Frydgi Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
Frydgi ("we", "our", or "the App") is a recipe and meal planning application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our App.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Email address — used for account creation, authentication, and communication.
- Name — optional display name for your profile.
App Usage Data
- Pantry inventory — ingredients you add to track what's in your kitchen.
- Recipe data — AI-generated recipes, saved favorites, and custom recipes you create.
- Meal plans — weekly meal plans you generate or customize.
- Shopping lists — lists generated from recipes or added manually.
- Dietary preferences — food preferences, restrictions, and cuisine choices you set during onboarding.
- Fitness profile — optional health data (height, weight, age, activity level, fitness goals) used to personalize calorie and macro targets.
Payment Information
- Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe and your device's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). We do not store credit card numbers, bank account details, or other financial information on our servers.
Camera and Photos
- Camera access — used to scan pantry items or take photos of ingredients. Photos are processed locally or sent to our AI service solely to identify food items and are not stored permanently.
- Photo library access — used to import images of pantry items you choose to share. Only images you explicitly select are accessed.
Voice and Audio
- Microphone access — used for the hands-free voice input feature, allowing you to speak pantry items aloud. Audio is processed on-device via speech recognition and is not recorded or stored.
Biometric Data
- Face ID / Fingerprint — used optionally to quickly unlock the App. Biometric data never leaves your device and is managed entirely by your device's operating system. We do not store or transmit biometric information.
Device Information
- Push notification tokens — used to send you notifications if you opt in.
- Advertising identifier — Google AdMob collects your device's advertising ID to serve relevant ads to free-tier users. You can reset or limit this in your device settings. Paid (Pro) subscribers do not have ads and their advertising ID is not used.
- We do not collect IP addresses or precise location data.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Recipe generation — your pantry inventory and dietary preferences are sent to our AI service to generate personalized recipes.
- Meal planning — your preferences and fitness goals are used to create customized meal plans.
- Account management — your email is used for authentication, password resets, and important account notifications.
- Service improvement — aggregated, anonymized usage data may be used to improve the App.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase — database hosting and user authentication. Supabase Privacy Policy
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — AI-powered recipe and meal plan generation. Your pantry ingredients and preferences are sent to generate recipes. Anthropic Privacy Policy
- Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions and in-app purchases. Stripe Privacy Policy

5. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers with row-level security (RLS) policies ensuring you can only access your own data.
- All data transmission is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
- Authentication tokens are managed by Supabase Auth with industry-standard security practices.
- We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — all your data is visible within the App.
- Delete your account — you can permanently delete your account and all associated data from within the App's Profile settings. This action is irreversible and removes all your recipes, pantry items, meal plans, shopping lists, and personal information.
- Update your information — you can update your profile, preferences, and fitness data at any time through the App.
- Opt out of notifications — you can disable push notifications through your device settings.
- Ad preferences — you can upgrade to Frydgi Pro to remove all advertising, or manage ad personalization through your device's ad settings.
7. Children's Privacy
Frydgi is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
8. Cookies and Tracking
The App does not use browser cookies. Google AdMob may use advertising identifiers on your device for ad personalization (free-tier users only). You can manage ad tracking preferences in your device settings.
9. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently deleted from our servers. Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be linked back to you may be retained for service improvement purposes.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
